WHO FOUND IT?William Parker Foulke, digging in a Haddonfield marl pit in 1858. Joseph Leidy studied and named it Hadrosaurus foulkii.
WHY DOES IT MATTER?In 1868 it became the first dinosaur skeleton ever mounted for display — and in 1991, New Jersey's official state dinosaur.
